Scraps, Scraps, Scraps

I've started sorting through all my scraps.  I'm really torn between the different sorting choices.

Sort by colour?
Sort by size?
Sort with having a quilt pattern in mind?
Sort by print?

Any good tips?

Happy Halloween!

I have mixed feelings on scraps. Right now I have all my scraps pressed and put in boxes - I wish now that I would have sorted at least by color. But now I am thinking of going back into to the scraps one day and just cutting them all into 2 1/2 inch squares and have them all be one shape - if they can't be 2 1/2 inch squares than maybe even 1 1/2? Maybe someone else has a good method to the madness of keeping so many scraps!
I have a hard time believing though that some people throw their scraps away - think of all the quilts you can make from them.

I don't have that many scraps so that I just pressed them all and put them in two clear plastic boxes, now up to three, so I think that I shall cut them into sizes, and put them in their respective boxes. I think.
A good idea for this blog...we are all so different eh?

I'm a color sorter. I once has all my fabric by size and I had a hard time finding the color I wanted, so switched to color and it works well for me. I do not cut my pieces into certain sizes because I never know if I'll need an odd shape.

I have a big pop up hamper and I just throw them in.....but as I get more and more and more I'm thinking of cutting some into shapes and dividing slightly larger pieces by color.

i say with scraps just have fun...grab a piece and sew it...then grab another and sew it wherever and however it will fit. i tried this and it is so liberating and you don't know what you will get in the end it is so much fun!

I haven't accumulated a huge amount of scraps yet... but I'm going to be cutting all of them into 2"x4" rectangles and when I have enough... a quilt!
